What we're doing

Right now, our focus is on listening to the community. We’re acting as the ears on the ground — hearing what people need, helping them access the support and resources that are already available, and paying attention to where gaps exist.

We don’t have all the answers yet, and we won’t act on assumptions. Instead, we let the community guide us: where people feel they’re falling through the cracks, that’s where we focus our energy.

A committee of local volunteers and residents then comes together to problem-solve and make it happen, turning needs into real action.

Our approach is simple: listen, respond, and follow through, making sure that no one has to face challenges alone.

Hands-On-Help Accessing Support

Hands-On Help is all about giving people a little time and support when they need it most. In just 30 minutes, we sit down together, sort out their questions, and help them with grant or relief payment applications. For someone feeling overwhelmed, this small bit of guidance can make a huge difference — giving clarity, confidence, and the reassurance that they’re not tackling it alone.

Community Rebuild and Relief

Community Rebuild & Relief is about bringing together bigger charities, organisations, and people with resources to tackle the challenges communities face after the fire. We connect those who can provide support with the areas that need it most — coordinating volunteers, clean-up, and rebuilding efforts — so that together, we can make a real, lasting difference.
